Montgomerey County Transit Station

Engineering

Problem Statement

Landscape Forms—an innovative outdoor furniture and lighting design manufacturer, tapped DISHER to provide design-for-manufacturing engineering support for upgraded bus stations for Montgomery County Transit. DISHER was responsible for engineering the metal-tree shelter designs, the backlit bus markers with bus-schedule screens, and the glass and metal windscreens.

Design & Engineer

World-class designers develop memorable user-experiences, but sometimes these concepts are difficult to manufacture. DISHER’s mechanical engineers took the transit station drawings and went to work researching and designing solutions for the metal and wood canopies complete with lighting and a rain-gutter system. DISHER also designed a way to manufacture the robust windscreen system, while electronics and lighting engineers configured the inner structure of the markers in keeping with the fresh and seamless look.

“My favorite Flash transit feature is the new and innovative stations that we have designed that are not like anything else that you will see in this region.”
